Milestones
On yesterday, May 16th, I celebrated my 46th birthday and accomplished another milestone in my academic journey, receiving the Master of Theology (Th.M) Degree at Columbia Theological Seminary. When I think about it, there have been so many milestones that lead up to this accomplishment.
Not all of the stones have been great and praiseworthy. The miles I have traveled have been filled with joys and triumphs, successes and failures. As a matter of fact, for every success represented in my bio, I have traveled 2- 3 more miles with failure as my companion. All in all, despite all of life's successes and failures, it's been a good journey!
Still In His Presence,
Dr. Toni

Anonymous, I want to speak a word of encouragement to you. The Scripture says in Isaiah 53:5.... But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes (wounds) we are healed. Psalm 23:4 says... Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death..... I'm not trying to make light of your situation, but believe me when I tell you, we are all walking through something.
I was in a car accident while I was at work, I could have been killed. I was in a coma for three months, the doctors walked away from me because they did not know what to expect - but my family prayed for me. When I came out of the coma, I had to learn how to walk, talk, feed myself, and do things that we all take for granted like going to the bathroom. It took me years of therapy to achieve this, but in my broken speech I never stopped praying to God. You can't stop praying either. I had uncontrolled seizures even though I took medication, but I kept praying and asking God to take this away from me. I am here to tell you that God hears and answers prayers.
Today, I no longer have seizures. The same God who was healing in the Bible is still healing today!. Step out on your faith and be strong. I hear your strength in every word that you wrote, you still have some fight left in you, and I am going to pray with and for you because I know that the God I serve is a healer.

Thankyou both for your persistence, patience and excellence in ministry. We often get to see you in the forefront, and sometimes overlook the fact that you have many challenges to go with the multitude of responsibilities. I am encouraged and inspiried by the way God uses you both. My life has been resurrected, and transformed as a direct result of being under your leadership. I
I am working on being more consistent and dependable. ( I know it doesn't look like it[smile])But please know God is dealing with me. Sometimes I try to make up for the lost by trying to schedule too much.[wrong] Next month I plan to scale back on the home improvement projects, and focus on ministry, creditials and counseling certification.
Just a note from an old school brother.
ps my dad din't make no quitters!!

Anonymous, I appreciate your willingness to share your story and your struggle with us. I'm sorry for the late response but I have been very busy these past two weeks and have not taken the time to read the blog comments.
I also appreciate our sister, Selin for responding with the scriptures that will help you fight this battle.
Continue to read through the Psalms because you will find strength and healing for your soul there. You can set up your atmosphere for healing with worship music, prayers, meditation and aroma therapy. Be careful to rid yourself of any negative people and situations that will distract you during this time.
Although you have not revealed your name to us, please know that we are praying for you and your situation. Because God knows your name and your struggle, He will come to your aide and your rescue.
Be encouraged and fight continue to fight the good fight of faith!
Dr. Toni
